MISSION

YAI is a Yoga Governing Organisation based in New Delhi-India with branches worldwide for the Accreditation and Registration of Yoga Teachers and Yoga Schools of all traditions and styles. YAI supports students to learn and teachers to teach yoga.

HISTORY

YAI is the only yoga organization in the world officially recognized by a Government (India) created in 2000 in response to Yoga Organizations around the world which have not roots in India where Yoga originated. The next years were spent researching the yoga scene worldwide, and based on our findings, we decided on a plan of action which we felt was long overdue. There was a lot of dissatisfaction among many yoga teachers and training schools that the other organizations were charging annual membership renewal fees for registration, we believe that charging yearly fees it is not in the best interest of the yoga community. We felt a LIFE TIME FEE for every category of registrations would be most appropriate.

In 2002 YAI became operative as a certifying organisation for the delivery of Yoga Teachers Training Courses in 'Transformational Yoga' at the 100-200 and 500hr level, Master and Grand Master, in India  at Srima School in Rishikesh and New Delhi. In early 2010 began its operation in Oceania Australia-New Zealand and Tasmania) for the Registration of Yoga Teacher and Yoga Schools.

OTHER ALLIANCES

Yoga Alliances from around the world: Yoga Alliance USA-UK-CANADA-EUROPE-CHINA-ASIA PACIFIC-AMERICA although have in common similar standards they work independently from one another. Like the other Alliances, YAI's  teachers, schools registration as well as certification  is recognised worldwide. For individuals or schools wishing to register with other Alliances, they must contact them individually.

Yoga Alliance International is an 'Alliance' that evaluates Yoga Teachers  and Yoga Teacher Training Programs based on two main principles:

Sri Swamiji Vidyanand’s Awards

His signature system is inspired by the Integral Yoga of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother and was developed when he taught yoga for more than a decade at the Sri Aurobindo Society, Adchini, Delhi, where he continues to teach. Sri Swamiji Vidyanand further established Alliances Organizations all over the world  to foster a community of dedicated Yoga practitioners.
