Sport Yoga Course awarded double accreditation/certification: 7 CECs by Fitness Australia and Yoga Alliance International (for its uniquiness) is designed by Fitness experts and Yoga Masters for Exercise Professionals (personal trainers, group fitness instructors,strenght trainers) who wish to introduce Yoga to their clients, add yoga to their fitness repertoire or for Sports Specific Training. What is Sport Yoga
Sport Yoga is a unique blend of ancient, modern, and experimental exercise designed to help sport people to improve their performance before or after any fitness/training routine. Sport Yoga is a workout that enhances balance, strengthens key muscles, and develops lower body endurance for improved performance of anyone that practice sports whether professionally or just to keep fit. The stretching sequence is a great way to unwind after any exercise workout, or as an everyday routine before sport activities to loosen up tight muscles and gain flexibility.The formatting, movements, and theories are taken and adapted from a variety of sources including: Hatha (physical) yoga, pilates mat exercises, Alexander technique as well as traditional sport stretches and warm-ups.
Sport Yoga can be incorporated into any training program such as: weight training, jogging, swimming, football, tennis, dancing, golf, indoor and outdoor cycling, aerobics and much more. Sport Yoga also offers a cardio workout by the way the poses breakdown has been designed.
Course Objectives:
The course will introduce exercise professionals to the practice of Yoga and will teach students how the body works when performing Yoga stretches, how to prevent sport injuries before and after exercise through proper body alignment and yogic warm-up, yoga poses anatomical focus, the use of pranayama (breath) techniques and its benefits when practicing Sport Yoga stretches, how to execute fifteen traditional HATA yoga poses.

- Sport Yoga Anatomy & Biomechanics
- Sport Yoga stretches and how Yoga can be incorporated into a fitness routine
- Benefits of Sport Yoga Stretches (Anatomical Focus)
- Proper Body Alignment
- Sequencing/Poses Breakdown
- Yoga warm-ups
- Poses Flow-Breathing Technique (Pranayama)
- How teach Yoga stretches safely
- Cueing
*Yoga experience is not required. The course has been designed to be Easy for instructors to learn.
Delivery format:
One day (8 hours) face-to-face intensive practical and theory. The course also includes 8 hours home study. The Resource Manual will be sent by post 4 weeks prior course begin date to help students familiarize with all topics that will be covered throughout the day.
Evidence requirements - Assessment:
Participants will be observed by our assessor/s throughout the duration of the course and assessed by a restricted response of 60 minutes written theory and practical test at the end of the course day.To achieve this outcome participants will require written and practical evidence which demonstrates their competence and understanding in 90% out of the 100% tests. Each candidate will be required to plan and demonstrate how to teach Sport Yoga session.

Prerequisits -Trainees must hold one of the following:
Certificate lll in Fitness or above recognised by Fitness Australia
Level IV Certificate in Fitness Trainer.
Diploma in Fitness.
Teacher Qualification
Tetriary Qaulification in Sports Science or above.
Senior First Aid Certificate. (compulsory for all participants)
Fitness Australia Registration. (compulsory for exercise professionals)
*Writing and numeracy skills are also required for presentation of course work, Minimum age 18years.
